Actor Michael Fassbender known for his roles in X-Men, Steve Jobs, and Shame is taking part in his fourth season in the ELMS with Proton Competition in their #93 Porsche 911 RSR-19.
Fassbender has been taking part in top-flight motorsport since 2017 with him taking part in championships like the Ferrari Challenge North America, Porsche Super Sports Cup Germany, WEC, and of course ELMS.
In the 2022 ELMS season, Fassbender came 12th in the LMGTE Drivers Championship, with him missing rounds at Imola and Portimão.
Fassbender also took part in the 24 hours of Le Mans with him finishing 51st overall in the race and 16th in the LMGTE AM class, which was a decent result considering it was Fassbender’s first time taking part in the race and the fact he had two major crashes at the event.
This should also hopefully mean a continuation of his much-loved racing series Road To Le Mans, which is a documentary-type series on Porsche’s YouTube channel that follows Fassbender’s Journey to the Le mans 24 hours, in which there are four seasons.
Fassbender is part of the many celebrity names to be fascinated by the Le Mans 24 hours with names like Patrick Dempsey and Paul Newman taking part in the race, and Steve McQueen famously creating a film that captured the spirit of Le Mans.
